Boathouse District, Oklahoma City
The Boathouse District, located in downtown Oklahoma City on the Oklahoma River, is easily accessible by both metro OKC residents and visitors. It’s at the intersection of I35/I40.
In 2006, the Chesapeake Boathouse opened the Boathouse District. It quickly grew to include a row iconic boathouses along river, the Chesapeake Finish Line Tower and RIVERSPORT Adventure Park, which offers exciting outdoor activities such as RIVERSPORT Rapids (a $45m whitewater rafting & kayaking center).
The Boathouse District is a popular destination for visitors to Oklahoma City, as well as athletes and families from the metro area. The district offers a world-class 4000m race, training course, and rowing course. Athletes can enjoy paddling or rowing on the course. Families and visitors can also take a ride on pump track and mountain bike skills courses, and 13+ miles of trails.
We invite you to also enjoy the architecture and art of the Boathouse District. The entrance to the Boathouse District is graced by the Compass Rose sculpture by Owen Morrell, an internationally renowned artist. Everyone appreciates the iconic architecture along the river, each one designed by Rand Elliott, Elliott & Associates. Local and international visitors are recognizing the Boathouse District’s architecture and athleticism as a top destination.
